An ambivalent Cinderella? A blood-thirsty Little Red Riding Hood? A Prince Charming with a wandering eye? A Witch...who raps? They're all among the cockeyed characters in this twisted musical fairy tale. When a Baker and his Wife learn they've been cursed by the Witch next door, they embark on a quest for the magical objects required to break the spell. Comedy and chaos ensue when Cinderella, Rapunzel, Jack (of beanstalk infamy) and Little Red Riding Hood join forces to help them in their quest. What begins as a lively irreverent fantasy becomes a moving parable about communal responsibility and the tales we tell our children. Follow the cast of characters from some of Grimm's classic stories as they begin "Once upon a time," go into the woods and discover what's after "happily ever after" in this Tony Award-winning musical.
