Take a bite out of summer with a new drop-in storytime at the National Museum of Dentistry. Visit every week to hear a different tooth-themed story and make a toothy project to take home. Suitable for pre-school children & up. Free with regular Museum admission -- $6 for adults, $3 for kids and seniors, and free for children age 6 & under. June 18: "My Dentist, My Friend" by P.K. Hallinan -- Make a dentist puppet and learn how your dentist is your friend. June 25: "Those Icky Sticky Smelly Cavity-Causing but...Invisible Germs" (English/Spanish) by Judith Anne Rice -- Learn how to brush and floss the right way and make a clay toothbrush holder. July 2: "Dragon Teeth and Parrot Beaks: Even Creatures Brush Their Teeth" by Almute Grohmann -- Learn about good nutrition and plant healthy vegetables to take home. July 9: "How Many Teeth?" by Paul Showers -- Make an art-ful mouth and teeth to take home. July 16: "The Great Tooth Fairy Rip-Off" by Dori Hillestad Butler -- Write a letter to the Tooth Fairy and use your imagination to draw the tooth fairy's picture. July 23: "What do the fairies do with all those teeth?" by Michel Luppens and Philippe Béha -- Make a Tooth Fairy pillow or box to hold your tooth. July 30: "Throw Your Tooth on the Roof: Tooth Traditions from Around the World" by Selby B. Beeler -- Activity TBA August 6: "Brush Your Teeth Please" by Leslie McGuire -- Learn about how animals have different kinds of teeth for different jobs.
