If you are a visual person and thrive on sights for sore eyes, be sure to make a pit stop at either the Baltimore Museum of Art, Maryland's largest art museum; the American Visionary Art Museum, which displays original works of art created by self-taught artists; or the Walters Art Museum, which proudly boasts 55 centuries of art from around the world.
If you're more "hands-on" you might want to participate in clay classes at Mt. Washington's Baltimore Clayworks or take the kids to Port Discovery.
For those of you looking to gain some insight from an historical perspective, the Great Blacks in Wax Museum is the place to be. America's first wax museum featuring Black History and culture, it features over 100 life-size wax figures. A former Underground Railroad stop, the Baltimore Civil War Museum is also a notable place of interest. This former 1849 train station houses a permanent exhibition based on Baltimore during the Civil War.
And if you're yearning for a hint of something different, make time to see either the National Museum of Dentistry or the Fire Museum of Maryland.
